WACKER TAKES OVER POLYMER
BUSINESS FROM WUXI XINDA
Wacker-Chemie GmbH has taken over
the polymer business from the
Chinese chemicals manufacturer Wuxi
Xinda Fine Chemical Co. Ltd. Wuxi
Xinda is a leading Chinese supplier of
solid polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) resins,
which are used for industrial applications.
With this acquisition, Wacker
plans to operate the PVAc activities
via the newly founded company WPS
Wuxi. Last year, Wuxi Xinda posted
sales of approximately €3 million for
PVAc solid resins.
“The Chinese market for PVAc
solid resins is significantly outpacing
the worldwide average growth
rate of about three percent per
year,” said Peter-Alexander Wacker,
group president and CEO. “The
acquisition will enable us to expand
our market share in China in this
sector much faster than through
purely organic growth
